Advocare 24 Day Challenge: Results and Review

So last Wednesday was the last day of our Advocare 24 day challenge and I wanted to share both our results and our review of the whole challenge.  For 24 days we went without sugar, processed food, pop, sugary drinks, coffee, fast food, fatty cuts of meat, and junk food. We consumed fresh fruits, veggies, lean meats, and whole grains. We took various supplements to cleanse, add nutrients and vitamins, and control appetite. Here are our results:

Advocare 24 Day Challenge Results

Katie–I lost 11.8 pounds and 5 inches! 6% off my total body weight in 24 days!

I lost 2 inches around my hips/low waist. My pants are all loose and I’m wearing a belt with them now to keep them up! I’ll be back in my pre-pregnancy jeans before I know it!

From the side. My hair looks significantly darker in the last shot, yes? I’m getting my hair trimmed and shaped on Tuesday. It is OVERDUE. I last got my hair cut at the end of April!!

And I cut my bangs myself. I’m a stylist’s worst nightmare. Anyways…I’m definitely seeing a smaller waistline and thinness in my face in these photos.

Nate–Nate lost 21 pounds and 10.5 inches! 9% of his total body weight in 24 days!

Nate lost an incredible 4 inches from his waist! Nate moved his belt a few notches back with that!

Advocare 24 Day Challenge Review

What was hard?

Katie: I think keeping on top of meal planning was hard. I definitely had to be more purposeful in planning, especially sides. Also, it was hard for me to remember to drink my water!

Nate: Not eating milk and cheese and skipping out on Halloween candy.

What was easy or not as hard as you expected?

Katie: It wasn’t as hard as I thought to say no  to processed foods and sugar.  There were a few times the desserts in our dining room tempted me, but thinking of it as non-optional eliminated a lot of temptation.

Nate: Most meals following the challenge rules wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. We still had good food!

What was your favorite new meal?

Katie: A toss up between pulled pork and honey mustard pork chops!

Nate: The pulled pork.

What will you do now that the challenge is over?

Katie: I’m keeping up with all of the supplements I took during the Challenge phase and continuing to eat clean. My goal is to eat the same way I’ve been eating but with 3 treats or exceptions a week. I’m also planning to get back to working out at least 5 days a week–moving was tough on my workouts, but I’m ready to get back at it!

Nate: I’m going to keep using Spark and the Meal Replacement Shakes  for breakfast and hopefully use the MNS3 supplements to continue losing weight for awhile.

Would you do it over again?

Katie: Yes! I’m planning to do the regular challenge again after I stop breastfeeding Layla (probably in February; you can do the cleanse every 90 days.)

Nate: Yeah. I would recommend it to other people too!

So there you have our full review and the great results we both got from the 24 day challenge!  If you have any questions please let me know! And if you’re interested in ordering the 24 Day Challenge or checking out other Advocare products you can use our SHOP!

  1. Congrats on completing this! I can’t imagine it was easy. I would love to do a cleanse of sugar from my diet. I don’t think I could cut out everything you did (I love dairy) but I think my sweet tooth has gotten out of control lately and if I omitted sugar for awhile hopefully I will crave it less. We will see how that goes.

This also would be a great post to linkup with my Tried it Tuesday post today. I am sure there are others who might be interested in trying this challenge. Check it out!

    Congrats again 🙂

    1. Thanks Sara! I am “lactose sensitive” so going without dairy wasn’t hard for me; I’m used to it. I did read that going without dairy (even the good kinds like greek yogurt) is helpul because the way milk feeds sugar? Maybe? I think they would definitely want you to avoid it in the “cleanse” phase and then just do limited amounts in the “max” portions. But I think the biggest thing was giving up sugar and processed foods. So hard but definitely worth it! 😀
