Hey! It’s been a while since I shared a “Day in the Life” post so here is a glimpse into the innner workings of my life as a mom, wife, blogger, work at home parent, and homemaker.
7:00 am My alarm goes off for the day! I sneak down our creaky staircase, praying I don’t wake Layla up! I settle down with my Stronger devotional and Bible.
7:30 I wrap up my study and check in to the ole blog. I schedule Facebook and Twitter posts and promote my post Lemon Pepper Chicken Pasta. I work fast because I know Layla will be up soon.
7:45 I hear Miss Layla so I get her up and feed her.
8:00-9:30 Layla and I eat breakfast (oatmeal with protein powder, walnuts and blueberries), clean up the kitchen, say goodbye to Nate and make a to-do list for the day. Layla is busy, chatting and playing with her toys and “helping” me in the kitchen. I generally try not to do blog or social media stuff while Layla is up.
9:30 I take Layla upstairs and spend some time cleaning up her bedroom. I still hadn’t unpacked her clothes from last week and it felt like a disaster zone up there! Then it was naptime for Miss Layla.
9:30-11:00 I get busy rolling through my to-do list: putting away laundry, showering, picking up the living room, and making room for our new couch and loveseat which are being delivered. I need my French press to power through.
11:00 The old couch and chair go out and the new loveseat and couch come in! I LOVE them! I was worried I wouldn’t love them as much as I did in the store, but that is not the case! They are the La-z-boy Collins sofa. The fabric is so soft! I spent 15 minutes just sitting on them.
12:00 Like clockwork Layla is up at noon to eat. Nate comes home for lunch and plays with Layla while I fix leftover sloppy joes and vegetable beef soup for lunch.
1:00 Playtime for Layla and I!
2:00 Layla goes down for her afternoon nap. I work on ordering our Christmas cards, some prints, and then spend an hour working my job as an executive assistant at our camp. I snack on an apple and almonds.
4:00 Layla is up again. I give her a bottle. She’s not really a fan, but I’m trying to transition her to taking this feeding via formula. I then feed her supper part 1 (bananas and baby cereal). We chill for awhile after her dinner. And then I get started on making our supper.
6:00 Nate gets home from work and after a little family cuddle time on our new couch we all eat dinner. Layla eats dinner 2 (toast) while we eat whole wheat spaghetti and salad. I might have overdone it on the garlic, but it was good!
6:45 After we clean up from supper I give Layla a bath. She loves splashing in the water! After her bath we all hang out for awhile….our new couches are perfect for family cuddles!
7:30 I feed Layla and put her in bed.
7:45 I get dressed and head to the gym to do Day 2 of the Female Fitness Bibe Workout. Basically it was 5 chest and arm exercises plus a 20 minutue HIIT workout. Good stuff. I think about goals I have for December and jot them down in between sets.
8:30 I finish my workout and go into the office (also where our gym is) and do a few things for work.
9:15 Home and write this blog post while Nate watches a movie.
11:00 Off to bed!
They say the days are long, but the years are short. As you can see one of my goals for the month is to be present, relax and find my peace in Christ. The holidays CAN be crazy, but I’m purposing to choose joy and peace this season. 🙂
What is your favorite part of the day? Have you set goals for the month yet? What are they!?
