Oh hey! Welcome to Friday!! This has been one of those weeks when winter has just seemed endless…all winter behind us…all winter in front of us. I think that’s why I’ve never really liked February, it was actually my least favorite month, but now that it is my baby’s birth month we always have something to celebrate in it!
5 Internet Loves:
It’s Not a Lifestyle, It’s a Diet–Interesting read, I think the best “diets” or weight loss plans build healthy lifestyle habits, but she’s right, you are not on a weight loss plan forever.
How to Achieve Balance in 5 Steps — Love some of the points in this about tension being distributed and not chasing the “unicorn” of balance.
10 Steps to Becoming a Morning Workout Junkie–Um, I need these tips! I know I’d be better off getting up earlier, but whenever I do it’s like I swear Layla has a 6th sense and decides she needs to wake up too! Augh. But seriously, these are great tips!
5 Reasons Why Women Should Be Lifting Heavier Weights–Lifting weights is one of the exercises I truly, truly love. Weird, huh? I love the feeling of bumping up the weights and getting stronger!
Weekend with the fam! I’m heading down this morning to my parents to spend the weekend and I’m totally excited! Everyone needs some grandpa and grandma spoiling! I’m happy to get this gang together too…and see my sister! Ah! It’s going to be fun!
Did you guys read that post from the lady who stopped wearing yoga pants and leggings? Yeah, I did, and I mean whatever. Do what makes you happy. (But you can pry my yoga pants from my cold. dead. fingers.) Anyways…in response to that 10 Things We Should Get Angry About Before Yoga Pants is a great read. And so convicting. Why can’t we get our panties in a bunch about something that matters? And then also, this awesome post: When Suits Become Stumbling Blocks. Just read it.
I started Weight Watchers again! Going to the meetings and everything. 🙂 I know I need the added accountability and it is a program that (sorry to sound cliche) works for me. It got me to a healthy weight and the principles I learned there kept me at it for years. So I’m excited! There are definitely “issues” I take with some of their overly processed WW products and how many points Greek yogurt costs me, but overall it is going well; portion control has been the biggest change but, like I said, I am actually looking forward to the extra accountability. I’ll, of course, keep you posted.
I’ve read a lot of great words this week about faith, specifically about how my faith plays out in joyful service to my family. I really liked this one: Why Falling in Love Maybe Sorta Be a Myth. And this quote from it:
But the truth is you get to either serve others with grace, or serve others with a grudge — or you can simply serve yourself, and that means you will serve yourself grief. The question is never will you serve. The answer is you will serve — but who will you serve and how?
That’s a type of love that’s bigger and stronger than a sappy card or a box of chocolate. It’s a choice. And one I love making.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you were encouraged or read something that made you think or even laughed a little! It literally amazes me that you are all here and definitely something I don’t take for granted. 🙂
What is something you are currently loving? Something you read this week that inspired you, made you laugh or think?
