Nothing says summer like homemade ice cream.Â
During summer family gatherings we almost always were cranking a freezer of homemade ice cream. Each turn of the rusty handle brought the sweet goodness of homemade ice cream closer and closer. My arm would ache and my mouth would water as I took my turn at the crank churning up cream and sugar into soft, fluffy ice cream. Summer. done. right.

And I promise that you will want to make this Salted Caramel Homemade Ice Cream OFTEN. The flavor is so rich and creamy, you don’t need much to satisfy a sweet tooth!

When making homemade ice cream the texture straight from the ice cream freezer is more milkshake-like than store-bought ice cream. If you like yours a little firmer and scoopable, spread it into a 9×13 pan and freeze in the freezer for another hour or so. The pan is the perfect depth for getting homemade ice cream to a more scoopable texture, if you prefer that. There is no wrong way to eat this ice cream!!
Although it takes a little bit of effort to stir up the creamy ice cream it is well worth it. The salted caramel ice cream pairs perfectly with an “American as apple pie” slice of Marie Callender’s® Pies topped with cool and delicious Reddi–wip®! I love that Marie Callender’s® Pies are homemade quality, filling and satisfying! I picked up all the ingredients I needed for this delicious triple threat dessert at my local Wal-mart.
